Turning Point

Saturday 23rd January will hopefully be seen as the turning point in the story of the floods. Almost a full month since the saga began, the clean-up and demolition phase is done. The building has been reduced to an empty shell, the fixtures thrown or burned, the plaster and insulation is in the skip.

Now comes the re-building phase. Plumbing and electricity first, then windows and walls, then the bar, flooring & seating. Also the changing rooms and toilets along the way. And it all needs a lick of paint too.

And the pitch, let's not forget that - still too wet to start on yet but plans are in place. Along with new boundary fencing since most of that is probably now between here and Bingley. And there's other on-site areas need addressing too - not least the path to the club which is now just a couple of inches of thick mud.

So several months work ahead, but after weeks of stripping out the rot and ruin the coming weeks should see steady improvements. I'm looking forward to watching the progress.
