Horror as Old Friends Haunt Us

A trip over to the picturesque Bradley for this week's match. Things began well with the toss being won and the traditional option of batting first selected. From there it went a bit downhill...
Kamran fell to ex-Riddlesden captain Zain with just a single on the scoreboard. Then not a lot happened in the next four overs as we found ourselves on 3-1 after five. Arfan then burst into action, hitting three succesive boundaries. Arfan's innings would become the cornerstone of the Riddlesden score, but around him wickets fell cheaply and we were in trouble. When Arfan was finally out, he had scored 41 of Riddlesden's total of 44-5! The tail wagged a little thanks to a strong 25 from Ishtiaq, but 93 all out (and another failure to get any batting points!) never seemed likely to be enough.
And so it proved to be. We all know what Qaddy used to do for us opening, and he did it against us too - steadily blunting the bowling attack and accumulating runs. Only 14 but unbeaten, and providing a foil for those around him. Zullie picked up a wicket, bowling Hunt for 36, but that was to be the sole success as Iklaq Ahmed added 42 in an unbroken 55 run partnership to win the game.
So another disappointing result and another round where we received no points. Down to just one place above relegation and facing a tough game against second placed Hepworth & Idle at home in the next league fixture. But before that we have the small matter of a cup game at home next week against... Bradley! Rematch! Will we get revenge...
