Under starter's orders

One week! That's all there's left before the season begins! Are we ready?

The ground is still on the damp side. But it's looking far healthier than it has at any point since Christmas. And the off pitch areas are much improved after a thorough tidy up and clearing. Once the fencing round the pitch is in place (this week hopefully), and the brickwork given a fresh lick of paint, then it will look very nice indeed.

The changing rooms still need a little bit of attention, but they're earmarked as Tuesday night's jobs. The clubhouse is, for all intents and purposes, complete. Just the final finishing touches required - a dab of filler, a bit of pipe boxing, a tv mounting. Nothing too terrible.

And the last major necessity is the path. It's still a treacherous mud slide at present, but that too will be replaced in the near future with plans made and the job agreed with our contractor. Indeed there were guiding lines marked out yesterday, so that too seems imminent.

So all that's required now is two sets of enthusiastic players and some wonderfully sunny summer weather! And a lot of appreciative supporters would be nice too.
