Curse this weather!

Robbed! That's what happened to the 1st team this weekend. Surely a first win of the season was cruelly snatched from them against Bingley Congs by the untimely arrival of rain. Typical!
Bowling first, Riddlesden restricted Bingley to just 113 all out, through an all-round good bowling performance but exemplified by Mohammed Arshad's excellent figures of 6 for 21 from 8.3 overs. Chasing this total, the top order were cruising at 81 for 1 when the game was abandoned.
So only one point earned in the league, but great heart can be taken from the performance - the team is getting stronger by the week! A little luck now and the wins will come.
As to the 2nd team, their game was called off before it began. As almost all the other fixtures in the division were also abandoned, not too much harm was done though I'm sure the team felt disappointed not to have played.
With the weather set fair this weekend, both teams will be hoping for positive results against Denholme CC, with the 1st team away once more and the 2nds at home.
