A Raging Success
Last weekend saw the culmination of several weeks hard work creating the best annual bonfire experience possible. This involved quite considerable logistical planning, time, borrowing, begging, and extreme physical labour. Not to mention a little pain!
But I think it's safe to say that the whole event was a spectacular success. The number of people who turned up was incredible, Thank you if you were amongst them. I think the vast majority left happy and were impressed with the night. The fire was huge, but well marshalled (the fire brigade even visited and complimented us on the organisation) and the fireworks were great. The food and drink seemed to go down well. The number of children running around the pitch in the dark (showing up only as glowstick bands and flashing badges) was good to see. Even the trampoline was in use. In the dark. And cold. Bizarre!
There were things we can learn from for next year. The bar was far busier than we would have liked - leading to some lengthy queues and perturbed customers, and some the food ran out before everyone was fed, but we have already come up with ways to improve on that for next year. However, if anyone has any feedback (positive or negative), we'd love to hear from you. We want to improve the quality and enjoyment of the community events we hold so your help is appreciated. Please remember we are a purely volunteer run club, so we can't do everything, but we try our best! Contact details can be found on the Contact Us section.
Thank you all.
