Tis the season...

The weather outside is.. well, not too bad really. It's not particularly cold for the time of year, and compared with twelve months ago it's certainly a lot drier! So there's not been a lot of help there getting into the festive feeling. So how great was it to host a fantastic children's Christmas party at the club on Sunday?

Yes, the whole clubhouse was decorated, strung with thousands of lights, the changing rooms turned into magical grottos, and a special appearance by Santa Claus himself (accompanied by the delightful Mrs Claus!) completed the scene. Actually, Rudolph completed the scene, but we don't want to dwell on that... From the look on most of the kids' faces the event was an overwhelming success! Certainly not bad for a first attempt - everyone of all ages seemed to enjoy it. What's next on the event agenda? Once we know, we'll tell you.

On the cricket side of things, Gully and Dale have been appointed captains of the 1st and 2nd teams respectively. Congratulations to both. The fixture list for next season has been released too - firsts begin at home against Oakworth, whilst the seconds travel to Eldwick. First games are on April 22nd. Not long now...

And the maintenance and job list at the club continues to grow. We're thinking about getting it published now that it's reached novella size. Any help in the new year would be gratefully received.

As this is possibly (probably) the last blog of the year folks, may I wish that everyone associated with the club, regardless of faith or beliefs, have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. See you all next year!
