Big Day - Saturday April 6th

Like the title says, next Saturday is a big day at the club. We have a host of events taking place.

1. Work party : Starting early afternoon through to 5pm getting the ground ready for the season - including such entertainment as painting; litter picking; painting; erecting sight screens; painting; erecting trampoline; painting; and if time allows, possibly a little painting...

2. The Grand National : Whilst technically not hosting it ourselves (the fences will have only just been painted so don't want horses crashing through them), we will be stopping work to have a dabble with the ever popular sweepstake ably run by our very own racing experts Steve and Danny.

3. Make a Wish charity draw : Danni Fearon (club semi-regular) is running the London Marathon on 28th April for the children's charity Make-A-Wish Foundation and is holding a raffle with some great prizes which will be drawn after the Grand National - gives the sweepstake winners time to buy a few extra tickets...

4. Riddlesden Race Night : After such a busy day, it's time to unwind with a fun evening of food, drink, fun and laughter - and a little flutter on yet more horses as our very own dynamic comedy duo Bob & Steve run and compere a fantastic race night for your pleasure. Well, Bob will run it and we'll all laugh at Steve, so I think I'm being accurate there!

So let's see a good crowd this weekend. We don't expect everyone to stay all day - come for the bits your interested in but let's have a grand old day that we will remember all year, and let's get the season off to a great start - just three weeks on Saturday!!!
